This is Attack the Block (2011), like you've never seen it before... told entirely in colour. Joe Cornish's first film as director, and John Boyega's first film of any kind, written after Cornish put questionnaires to teenagers in south London about what they would do if something landed on the estate. The creatures are deliberately cheap: black silhouettes with glowing teeth, legible at night and inexpensive by day. It did modest business in British cinemas and has been steadily reappraised since.
