Adrift in the Atlantic, far from the bustle of the mainland, Boa Vista rises from the waves as a quiet promise of sand and sun. Its name means "good view", and from the moment its dunes appear on the horizon, the island offers exactly that.
Wander the vast Deserto de Viana, where pale dunes ripple like a landlocked ocean, or walk the shifting sands of Praia de Santa Mónica, a 16km stretch of empty coastline lapped by turquoise water. Explore Sal Rei, the island's low-slung capital, where pastel houses gather around Fort Duque de Bragança.
