This is the original patent drawing for the earth mover, or bulldozer, granted on 7 November 1950 as US 2,529,124 to Ellsworth W. Austin. The sheet sets out the great blade, the tracked undercarriage and the muscular linkages that let it push and shape the ground, every component labelled with the patient logic of the drafting table.

There is a real thrill in seeing so much brute force translated into calm, ordered draughtsmanship — a snapshot of post-war ambition, when nothing seemed too big to build.
