Ichi the Killer Movie Barcode Poster
This is Ichi the Killer (2001), like you've never seen it before... told entirely in colour. Takashi Miike adapted Hideo Yamamoto's manga at the pace he was then working, several features a year, and cast Tadanobu Asano against his usual register. Censors in several countries cut it and a few declined it altogether, while the Toronto festival handed out sick bags at its screening, which did the publicity no harm at all. Much of it is set in Shinjuku's Kabukicho, a real district only slightly less lurid than the film suggests.
