On Albania's southern coast, where the Ionian Sea turns impossibly turquoise, Ksamil unfolds as a scatter of small islets and pine-fringed shores. Once a quiet fishing village, it now draws travellers with the promise of clear water and unhurried days beneath a Mediterranean sun.
Wade or swim out to the four Ksamil Islands, their shallows so pale they seem lit from within. Stretch out on beaches such as Bora Bora and Paradise, where sunbeds cluster beneath umbrellas.
