This is Perfect Days (2023), like you've never seen it before... told entirely in colour. The most prominent colour of every frame comes together to form a colour barcode of the film — a vivid portrait of its mood, light and palette from beginning to end. Choose your layout: the full design with the film's title, year and key credits, a simpler version with just the title and year, or the barcode on its own — a love letter to Perfect Days for those who know it scene by scene.
Hirayama cleans public toilets in Tokyo, listens to cassettes on the drive to work, photographs trees at lunch and reads himself to sleep. Wim Wenders builds a whole film from that routine, and Kōji Yakusho's largely wordless performance makes each repetition quietly different. Small disturbances ripple through a life arranged with great care. A gentle, luminous hymn to attention and ordinary days.
