This is the original patent drawing for the pizza paddle, or peel, granted on 30 May 2000 as US 6,068,313 (no inventor is named on the record). The sheet lays out the broad flat blade and long handle with care — the tool that slides a pizza into blistering heat and draws it out again, golden and bubbling.

There's a rustic warmth to it, the wood-fired romance of the pizzeria captured in clean, considered technical lines.
