Guarding the Aegean at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, Rhodes rises from the sea as an island where knights and gods once shared the same shore. Sunlight pours over stone ramparts and citrus groves alike, and the air carries salt, thyme and the promise of stories older than memory.
Wander the cobbled lanes of the Old Town, a walled labyrinth where the Street of the Knights leads past the Palace of the Grand Master. Beyond the walls, the Colossus once bestrode the harbour of Mandraki, now watched over by bronze deer atop stone columns. Journey inland to Lindos, where a hilltop acropolis overlooks whitewashed houses tumbling toward a sapphire bay.
Beyond its monuments, Rhodes lives in simpler pleasures: grilled octopus by the harbour and local wine poured beneath fig trees.
