A discarded car tyre wakes in the Californian desert, discovers it can make heads explode by concentrating, and sets off along the highway while an audience watches through binoculars. Quentin Dupieux built his cult reputation on this deadpan absurdity, opening with a monologue on why films need no reason at all. Stephen Spinella and Roxane Mesquida play it perfectly straight throughout.
