Paul Greengrass takes on the Peasants' Revolt of 1381, when the poll tax levied after the Black Death sent the villages of England marching on London to petition a king they believed was being held hostage by his council. Andrew Garfield plays the ploughman who ends up leading them. It was shot in Upper Bavaria and Franconia over the autumn of 2025, with up to 5,000 extras, in the handheld style Greengrass has used since Bloody Sunday.
