This is the original patent drawing for a vibraphone, granted on 30 June 1964 as patent 3,138,986 to inventor Clair Omar Musser. The sheet arranges the tuned metal bars above their resonator tubes, detailing the rotating discs that give the instrument its trademark tremolo — every element labelled to reveal the mechanics behind that liquid, ringing voice.
