This is the original patent drawing for a violin bow, granted on 19 August 1941 as patent 2,252,929 to inventor John Heddon. The sheet studies that slender stick, the frog and the tensioning screw in precise profile, detailing how the ribbon of horsehair is drawn taut to coax music from a string.
