This is the original patent drawing for a water tap, granted on 18 November 1930 as patent 1,782,315 to inventor John Powell. The sheet cuts the tap open to reveal the spindle, washer and seat within, each part labelled to show the simple, satisfying mechanics that start and stop the flow with a single twist.
