Climb toward Mount Etna, whose smouldering peak watches over vineyards and pistachio groves, or stand before the Greek temples of Agrigento's Valley of the Temples. In Palermo, the Norman mosaics of the Cappella Palatina glimmer with Byzantine gold, while Noto and Ortigia unfold in honeyed baroque stone.
